Materials:

  • TP rolls
  • Yarn
  • Colored washi tape
  • Small kid scissors
  • Elmer’s glue
  • Masking tape
  • Hole punch (1/8″)

Directions:

  1. Start by taping down one end of the yarn. Then wrap the yarn around the TP roll and tape the other end. Some kids wanted to only wrap one piece, other kids wanted to wrap three or four. It was completely their choice.
  2. When they are finished wrapping and taping, hand them the glue and let them squeeze one line down the middle of one of the TP rolls. We then squeezed the two rolls together, and used a long piece of masking tape to run all the way inside and around the two rolls to keep them in place.
  3. Punch two holes on either side of the rolls. Tie a long piece of yarn through the holes so the binoculars go over their heads.
  4. Take the binoculars to the parks with you to spot birds in the trees!
