20 Things to do in Fall

Whether it’s at the International Crane Foundation at a guided tour at Horicon Marsh, see if you can catch these amazingly elegant birds before they migrate for the Winter.

Create a backyard bird sanctuary with expert advice from Wild Birds Unlimited. Get to know the flying visitors to your home in a birding journal.
Although we encourage you to get outside, we understand that it’s Wisconsin, and sometimes Fall can be cold or maybe even a little windy. That’s why another great way to see the Fall scenery is to get a coffee or cider and go for a nice Fall drive around your local natural areas.

Engage little ones’ curiosity with nature in a collaborative environment with the weekly Lil’ Explorer Adventure program at Lussier Family Heritage Center.

Take a trip to the tropics by visiting the Bolz Conservatory, a glass pyramid full of tropical plants over at Olbrich Gardens. They even have free flying birds!

Friends of Pheasant Branch Conservancy have provided backpacks full of trail guides, mini-lessons/activities, guest sign-in books, notepads, magnify glass, dip nets, bird identification books and much more. Check one out a backpack from the Middleton and Waunakee Public Libraries and get the most out of your experience at the Pheasant Branch Conservancy.
