Vermiculture 101: The Science of Composting Using Worms

April 23, 2022 @ 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Join us at the Welty Environmental Center as we explore the anatomy and ecological importance of worms and the three basic ingredients of a successful compost pile.

We will investigate the day in the life of a worm by reading a story, and with the information we learn, we will be constructing small-scale compost bins that will house our very own earthworm that will promote decomposition of plant material. This nutrient-rich soil can then be used in our gardens!

This event is part of the Badgerland Remake Learning Days. This event is free to the public for all ages. Donations are appreciated and accepted. Please register below as space is limited.
