Prairie Hills Community Composting Project
August 14 @ 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Gardeners and community members will be working together to sort materials, turn compost piles, and measure the progress of the community composting operation. This composting operation, supported by the Prairie Hills Community Garden, Rooted, the City of Madison, and a grant from the Natural Resources Defense Council, is a pilot project, seeking to divert neighborhood household food waste from the landfill while providing compost to community gardeners. The project is not currently accepting food waste from the general public, in order to not be overwhelmed with excess food waste. However, they are always accepting volunteers to help keep the site clean, productive, and rapidly composting! For more questions or to get involved, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
