Learn About Small-Scale Composting

July 5, 2022 @ 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

We’ve partnered with Rooted and UW-Extension to offer this free class held at the community garden at Reindahl Park. Participants will gather to learn about small-scale composting, which can be used to convert garden debris and household food waste to improve soil fertility and quality. The speaker will share different composting methods for different goals, available materials, and space limitations.

LOCATION: Reindahl Park (1818 Portage Road), at Community Garden. Continue past the tennis courts and along the gravel/dirt road until you reach the garden.
AGES: Family-friendly, children should be accompanied by an adult.
WHAT TO BRING: No equipment is needed. Dress to be outside, with the possibility of mosquitoes! You may consider bringing a camp chair if you have one.
REGISTRATION: Advanced registration is required and may be done online or by phone (608) 266-4711.

Partner organizations: Rooted and UW-Extension
Rooted supports Community Gardens around the city of Madison and has coordinated with Madison Parks to find instructors to lead this and other Learning Series events this summer. Instructor Michelle Probst works with UW-Extension.
