Friends of Stewart Park — Remnant Prairie Restoration Workday

September 10 @ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Join Friends of Stewart Lake during their “goat squad” workdays as they continue restoration work on a beautiful remnant prairie on the hillsides of Stewart Lake. Volunteer to help remove invasive weeds, invasive brush crowding out oak trees, and create brush piles to be burned this winter. Work will be slower and more methodical to thoroughly remove and treat woody invasives and maintain the high-quality nature of this precious ecological site.

Work will be on the lower steeper part of the hillside so wear good traction boots or shoes. The workgroup meets at the dead end of Blue View Drive in Mt. Horeb (not at the Stewart Lake parking lot). Enjoy a few hours outdoors at this beautiful location in helping to restore this special remnant prairie. Your help will be very appreciated!
