Laura Worachek has been beekeeping for over 10 years and would love to help you get started. She is President of the Rock County Beekeepers’ Association, an amazing group of supportive beekeepers.

This workshop is for those looking to start beekeeping this year. Laura will walk participants through the beekeeping kit and teach you everything you need to know to get started with beekeeping. There will be plenty of time for Laura to answer all of your beekeeping questions!

The cost includes a high quality, Amish built and painted beekeeping kit. The kit includes:

• Bottom Board
• (2) Painted Deeps with frames and plastic foundation cells (waxed)
• (2) Painted Supers with frames and plastic foundation (waxed)
• Queen Excluder
• Inner Cover
• Top Cover
• Bucket Feeders
• Smoker
• Bee Brush

Suits of various sizes and gloves will be available at the workshop for an additional $150.

Participants will also have the opportunity to order their bees at the workshop. Bee orders include 3lb of Carniolan bees with a marked queen. Bee order pickups will be at Welty Environmental Center in late April.
