Saturday Restoration Workdays at Donald Park

July 9, 2022 @ 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, repeating until July 9, 2022

We are continuing our Saturday restoration work parties at Donald Park this summer and would love to have you join us! Our goal is to remove the invasive species that crowd out the natives so we can keep our woods and prairies beautiful and healthy. We will be removing wild parsnip with a special shovel called a “parsnip predator”. Meet in the Pop’s knoll parking lot at 8:45 a.m. From there, we will walk about half a mile to our location. To avoid contact with wild parsnip sap, you MUST wear: Long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Gloves – Bring your own if you have them. We will have leather gloves to lend out. Sturdy shoes for stomping on the shovel. (Running shoes are usually too flimsy.) A hat and water are recommended. We’ll provide cookies at breaktime.
