Friends of Stewart Park Restoration Workday

November 21, 2021 @ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Free

The third Sunday of the month from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, the FOSP have an open workday in the Oak Trail Woodland and Savanna. We meet at the end of Blue View Drive and work in the Oak Trail. Folks interested in work should come dressed for the weather and wear a mask. Work will be spread out throughout the trail but will focus on burning cut brush, clearing woody invasive shrubs, mostly buckthorn, bittersweet vine, honeysuckle, prickly ash and multiflora rose. You will use provided loppers but can feel free to bring your own tools as well. FOSP certified volunteers may treat the cut invasive stumps throughout the course of the workday. Please feel free to connect with Mary McDonough-Sutter via email or text/telephone to join the weekday crews ( mcsutter@mhtc.net or 608 332 5029).
