Friends of Badger Mill Creek Environmental Corridor — Restoration Workday

October 22, 2022 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

On October 22, 2022, the Friends of BMCEC will have an open workday at the oak tree line, located just west of the Military Ridge Reserve, within the Badger Mill Creek Corridor.

Join the Friends to remove and pile invasive shrubs and trees like box elder, buckthorn, honeysuckle, and other brush. Volunteers may be asked to apply herbicide to cut stumps in order to prevent re-growth, though there will be other roles for volunteers uncomfortable with applying herbicide.

Tools: All tools, including loppers and hand saws, will be provided or volunteers can bring their own. Other tools and needed materials will be provided.

What to Bring:

Bring ear protection as chainsaws will be in use.
Bring drinking water and gloves.
Wear clothes you don’t mind working in.
Sturdy shoes or boots are highly recommended.
Folks wanting to participate in the workday should send a message to Jeff Johnson at kljohnson63@yahoo.com so that we can plan for this workday and have all the necessary equipment on hand.
