Event Description

Who: Middle and high school educators, but educators of any level are welcome to attend.

  • March 28: Climate & Wildlife
  • April 4: Climate, Water, and Resilience
  • Optional related session (free): April 12: Climate Science Fits Your Classroom
  • April 18: Using the Medicine Wheel for Planning

Cost: $50 (full registration) or $15 (with scholarship*)

Participate in five live sessions with Cathy Techtmann, a Professor of Community Resource Development and an Environmental Outreach Specialist for the University of Wisconsin-Division of Extension. She lives and works in the homeland of the Lake Superior Ojibwe people.

Participants will gain an understanding of public perspectives on climate issues, learn how to take a place-based approach to climate education using the Gikinoo’wizhiwe Onji Waaban (Guiding for Tomorrow) or “G-WOW” Changing Climate model, receive Project WILD’s Climate and Wildlife and Project WET’s Climate, Water, and Resilience guides, and increase confidence in integrating climate in their classrooms.

*Scholarship recipients must attend all five sessions and submit a plan for implementation or will be invoiced for the entire workshop cost.
