Naturalist Clare Carlson leads bumble bee group surveys in Cap Springs Recreation Area prairies and native plant gardens. Volunteers take photos, tally species, and submit findings to DNR’s Bumble Bee Brigade. Ten species have been confirmed in the park.

SURVEY DATES & LOCATIONS: Wednesday, Oct. 5 | Nine Springs E-Way, Capital City & Lower Yahara Trails parking lot, Lake Farm Rd | 9-11am | lot located directly across the road from the Heritage Center

SUPPLIES: Bring a camera (phone cameras work great) if you wish. Please bring sun protection and drinking water. Restrooms are available at most locations.

SIGNUP: Contact Clare Carlson carlson.clare@countyofdane.com to join a survey. Signup is required. Children are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: If a survey is cancelled, folks will be emailed at least one hour before a survey.
